Connecting with Tomorrow’s Talent at the UNIL Career Networking Fair

The HEC Lausanne Career Networking Fair held annually at the University of Lausanne’s Dorigny campus brings together nearly 50 leading companies and over a thousand students in search of internships and early-career opportunities.

A combination of exhibition booths, company talks and structured interview sessions, transforms traditional recruiting events into a marketplace of ideas and ambition. Since its inception, the fair has become one of the most anticipated annual events for students across crucial fields like finance, technology, and compliance. 

‍

This year’s event featured employers like Rolex, LVMH, Shiseido, PWC, EY alongside fintech firms and financial institutions. Each shared insights into their respective industries while scouting for new talent. For YouHodler, this year’s Career Networking Fair specifically offered a golden opportunity to align our real-world marketing and compliance needs with the workforce of tomorrow.

Real conversations. Real potential

We came to the fair with two open positions — one in marketing and one in compliance — both important areas as YouHodler continues to grow internationally and strengthen how we operate.

The event’s interview format made the day especially productive. Instead of just reviewing resumes, we had real conversations with students about their interests, goals, and ideas. Over the course of the afternoon, we spoke with more than 40 candidates — many of whom showed a clear passion for learning and a genuine interest in the world of digital finance.

Inspiring the Next Generation of FinTech Professionals

What stood out most was the diversity of strengths we encountered. Alongside strong marketing and compliance profiles, we met students passionate about business intelligence, legal frameworks, data-driven strategy, and digital innovation. 

Ultimately, more than 10 highly promising candidates were identified as potential future colleagues — a testament to the quality of UNIL’s student community and the depth of talent forming Switzerland’s next generation of finance and technology professionals.

Looking Ahead

The UNIL Career Networking Fair reminded us how important it is to stay connected with the next generation of professionals. Meeting so many motivated students reinforced our belief that the future of fintech depends on curiosity, learning, and hands-on experience.

We came to the event looking for potential interns, but we left with much more — new ideas, fresh perspectives, and a real sense of optimism about where the industry is heading.
