Lead Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic product and IT team. In this role, you will lead the development of our data infrastructure and drive strategic decisions for our data warehouse. Your expertise in SQL, dbt, and Microsoft Azure will be essential for optimizing data workflows and creating impactful analytical reports.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL processes to ensure the smooth flow of data from various sources into our Azure-based Data Warehouse
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into data engineering solutions
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to facilitate data transformations and load data into the Data Warehouse
• Utilize dbt to create transparent and scalable data transformation processes
• Develop analytical reports and dashboards using Metabase
• Collaborate with the product and IT teams to ensure data quality, data governance, and adherence to best practices
• Manage data team and maintaining YouHodler’s data platform reliability and robustness

Requirements

• Strong experience working with SQL and relational databases
• Proficiency in dbt (Core preferably) for building and managing data transformation processes
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory
• Competence in data modeling (especially dimensional models/star schemas) to meet analytics requirements
• Familiarity with Metabase (or other BI tool)  for building interactive visualizations and reports
• Experience with orchestrating tools such as Airflow
• Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
